With 1000's of people signing up to Salsa classes and spending their hard earned bucks to become a start of the dance floor Salsa classes have begun to spring up every where. So how do you make sure you get the most out of your Salsa Classes?
So you turn up to your Salsa Class, may be this is your first time, and you are determined to fix the two left feet you have, even if they are on backwards. How can you make sure that you get the best value for you dancing money?
There are 3 easy steps you can take to optimise your time in class; I will detail these in a second. Before I do there is one extra tip I will give you about attending Salsa classes make sure you have fun. This is what Salsa is all about and no matter how good your teacher is if you are not having fun then what is the point.
Ok what are the 3 top tips for getting the most out of your Salsa classes?
1) Pay attention in class. Yes I know this is a no brainier but you will be amaze at the time wasted in each Salsa class through people not paying attention. OK so the next partner you are to dance with is cute but they are not paying for your Salsa Class YOU ARE. Pay attention and you will learn much faster.
2) Face the same way as the lead or follower instructor. In most Salsa classes the teacher will have a partner to demonstrate the move you are currently learning. Whether you are the lead or the follower face the same way as the teacher and their partner. It's very hard to learn mirror style as you are seeing every thing backwards.
3) Write it down. Don't underestimate this tip it is probably the most important tip to getting the most out of your Salsa classes. Take a pen and pad to every Salsa Class you go to. As soon as you finish write down the move or sequence you have learnt. You will soon develop your own short hand and I can guarantee that your Salsa teacher will do this every time they go to classes themselves.
