Types of Lights For Your Landscape
by Marcia Luello
Landscape lights are somewhat essential for every garden since it exposes the true beauty of nature to the human sight. Typically, there are many types of landscape lighting which can cater to anyone's tastes.
The first type is the up lighting. This type is used in order to focus the light on a certain landscape element which can be a plant bed, potted plants, shrubs, or tree tops. The path of light of this type as the name implies is ascending
The second type is the down lighting. Like the first type, this is used in order to focus something. Also, like up lighting, down lighting can create an attractive and at the same time appealing ambiance. However, unlike in the first type, the path of illumination here is descending.
The third type is the path lighting. Path lighting is used in order to illuminate drive paths. This type of lighting provides a much clearer walking area as the illumination is focused solely on one part. Usually, the lights in this type of lighting are six to ten feet apart.
The forth is the moonlighting. Moonlighting is primarily used so as to give that romantic ambience. This is because the natural beauty of the moonlight is created in this type. The lights here are usually located at very high areas.
The fifth type is the area lighting. This type is used in order to focus on the desired area. Spot lights or flood lights are usually used here.
The last is the accent lighting. This lighting is commonly used to light fountains, statues, and other special architectural aspect.
